Due to the continued prevalence of Covid-19 in New Orleans and Louisiana, the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s office will remain closed to the public through at least Sept. 27, DA Leon Cannizzaro announced Thursday (Aug. 27).

While closed to the public, the OPDA’s office is performing essential services only with a restricted number of employees. These include representing the state in limited court proceedings being held by video conference, including bond settings, arraignments and the entering of pleas as scheduled by the court.

A duty ADA (assistant district attorney) is assigned to assist the public with questions via telephone each Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Calls are answered during these hours at (504) 822-2414.
